    Tilers in the Barossa Valley

The Barossa Valley sits about an hour north-east of Adelaide and is South Australia's best-known wine region. Tanunda, Nuriootpa and Angaston form its core, with Lyndoch and Williamstown to the south and the Light district towns of Kapunda, Freeling and Greenock to the north and west. Housing ranges from 19th-century stone cottages and villas to post-war brick homes, newer estates on the town edges and farmhouses on rural blocks, alongside cellar doors, guesthouses and tourist accommodation. Owners and builders want tiling that suits both heritage and new work.

    About the region

    Tiling in the Barossa Valley

SA Tiling Pro is an Adelaide-based tiling contractor that services all of South Australia, including the Barossa and Light district. We arrange travel for regional work, so a job in Tanunda or Kapunda is quoted and organised just like one in the suburbs. Quotes are free, with no obligation. We are fully licensed and insured, with more than 20 years of tiling experience. Typical projects include bathroom and ensuite renovations, kitchen splashbacks, living-area floors, alfresco and pool surrounds, waterproofing, and commercial fit-outs for cellar doors and accommodation.

The older towns of Tanunda, Angaston and Kapunda keep a large stock of 19th-century stone cottages, villas and shopfronts, with post-war brick homes and 1970s and 80s brick veneers filling the streets around them. Newer estates on the edges of Nuriootpa and Freeling sit alongside farmhouses, vineyard homesteads and a steady supply of guest accommodation.

    Local tiling considerations

    • Old stone cottages and villas

Many older homes in Tanunda, Angaston and Kapunda have uneven floors, lime-mortar walls and some rising damp. We check the substrate, level where needed and use flexible adhesives so new tiles sit properly on old fabric.

    • Clay soils and seasonal movement

Parts of the district sit on clay soils that swell in wet winters and shrink over hot, dry summers. Movement joints and flexible adhesives laid out in line with AS 3958.1 help stop floors cracking as the ground moves.

    • Hot summers and outdoor tiling

Summer days in the valley often pass 35 degrees, so alfresco areas and pool surrounds take a lot of sun and thermal movement. We use slip-rated tiles classified to AS 4586, allow for expansion joints and lean towards lighter colours that stay cooler underfoot.

    • Cellar doors and guest accommodation

Tasting rooms, restaurants and guesthouses need hard-wearing floors, slip resistance in wet areas and waterproofing to AS 3740 in every ensuite. We plan commercial work around your trading hours so the doors stay open.

Tiling services available in the Barossa Valley

Do you travel to the Barossa, or only work in Adelaide?
We are based in Adelaide but service all of South Australia, and the Barossa is about an hour up the road. Travel is arranged as part of the job, and quotes are free with no obligation. That covers the whole district, from Williamstown and Lyndoch through Tanunda and Nuriootpa to Kapunda, Freeling and the smaller localities in between.
How far ahead should I book a regional job?
For a bathroom or kitchen in the Barossa we plan the travel and the order of trades before we start, so the earlier we see the job the better. Waterproofing to AS 3740 needs curing time before tiles go down, and we allow for that in the program. Contact us once you have a rough date and we will work backwards from it.
My property is on tank or bore water. Does that affect the tiling?
It does not affect the tiling itself, but hard bore water leaves mineral deposits on grout and shower glass over time. We recommend a sealed or epoxy grout in showers and laundries on these properties. We can also clean and regrout older wet areas that have already stained.
Do you charge extra for travel?
For metropolitan Adelaide, no. For regional and remote work we factor travel into the written quote up front so there are no surprises, and we group regional jobs where we can to keep costs down.
Can you quote from photos and measurements?
For straightforward jobs, yes. Send photos and rough measurements with the quote form and we will give you an indicative price, then confirm it on site before work starts.
