Bathroom Renovations across South Australia
A full bathroom renovation managed by one experienced trade. SA Tiling Pro strips out the old room, coordinates licensed plumbers and electricians, waterproofs to AS 3740 and tiles floors and walls. We fit off shower screens, mirrors and accessories, the licensed plumber fits off vanities, toilets and tapware, and you deal with one point of contact from quote to handover.

Bathroom Renovations done properly
A bathroom renovation is mostly preparation and sequencing. The old tiles, fixtures and often the screed come out, then the floor and walls are checked for level, plumb and soundness before anything new goes in. Plumbing rough-in for new tap positions, floor wastes and a wall-hung vanity happens next, followed by any electrical work for lighting, exhaust fans and heated towel rails. Only then does the wet area get waterproofed and tiled. Getting this order right is what separates a bathroom that lasts twenty years from one that leaks in two.
Waterproofing is the part you never see and the part that matters most. Every shower, bathroom floor and wall junction we renovate is waterproofed to Australian Standard AS 3740, with correct falls to the waste, bond breakers at the junctions and the membrane allowed to cure before tiling. Tiles are then set to a planned layout in line with AS 3958.1, with floor tiles carrying a slip-resistance classification, tested to AS 4586, that is appropriate for a wet floor. Grout, silicone and trims are chosen to cope with steam, cleaning products and daily use.
Because we are tilers first, the finish is where a SA Tiling Pro renovation shows. Large-format porcelain with tight, even joints, niches that line up with grout lines, hobless showers with linear drains, and feature walls that are laid out so cuts fall where you will not notice them. We work in occupied homes across Adelaide and travel for regional renovations throughout South Australia, keeping the site clean and the rest of the house usable while the bathroom is out of action.
What's included
- Design and layout advice
We measure the room, talk through what works and what does not, and help you settle on a layout, tile selection and fixtures before any demolition starts.
- Strip-out and disposal
Old tiles, screeds, fixtures, cabinetry and shower screens are removed and taken away, and the substrate is inspected for damage or moisture.
- Plumbing and electrical coordination
We book and coordinate licensed plumbers and electricians for rough-in and fit-off so the program runs in the right order without gaps.
- Screeds, levelling and falls
Floors are screeded with correct falls to the floor waste and walls are straightened where needed so tiles sit flat and water drains properly.
- Waterproofing to AS 3740
Showers, floors and wall junctions are waterproofed with a compliant membrane system and allowed to cure before tiling begins.
- Floor and wall tiling
Porcelain, ceramic, stone or mosaic tiles laid to plan, including niches, hobs or hobless showers, feature walls and floor-to-ceiling walls.
- Fixture and screen fit-off
Once tiling is complete we install the vanity cabinet, mirror, accessories and the frameless or semi-frameless shower screen, and the licensed plumber fits off the toilet, basin, tapware and bath connections. Inset and built-in baths are set at rough-in stage so the waterproofing and tiles finish onto them; freestanding baths go in at fit-off.
- Grout, silicone and handover
Grouting, mould-resistant silicone at every internal corner and junction, a full clean, then a walk-through with you before we call the job done.
How we approach bathroom renovations
- 01
Site visit and quote
We measure the bathroom, look at the existing plumbing and substrate, discuss your ideas and provide a free, itemised written quote.
- 02
Selections and scheduling
You choose tiles, fixtures and finishes, we confirm lead times and lock in a start date with the plumber and electrician booked around it.
- 03
Strip-out and rough-in
The old bathroom comes out, the trades complete their rough-in, and we prepare screeds and wall substrates.
- 04
Waterproofing and tiling
The wet area is waterproofed to AS 3740 and cured, then floors and walls are tiled and grouted to the agreed layout.
- 05
Fit-off and handover
Screens, mirrors and accessories go in, the licensed plumber and electrician return to fit off fixtures, lighting and fans, silicone is applied, the room is cleaned and we walk you through the finished bathroom.
Finishes, fixtures and layouts
Not sure where to start? We will talk you through what suits the room, the budget and the way your household uses the bathroom.
Large-format porcelain
600 x 600 mm and larger tiles cut down on grout lines and make small bathrooms feel bigger. They need a flat substrate, which is why preparation matters.
Walk-in and hobless showers
A hobless shower with a linear or centre drain removes the step, looks cleaner and is easier to clean and step into. It relies on a water stop at the shower perimeter and accurate falls in the screed so water still heads to the drain rather than out across the floor.
Floor-to-ceiling wall tiles
Tiling walls to the ceiling protects plaster from steam and gives a seamless look. It also suits terrazzo-look, stone-look and textured tiles.
Niches and ledges
Recessed shower niches replace clunky caddies. We set them out so their edges align with grout lines and they drain properly.
Wall-hung vanities and toilets
Wall-hung fixtures free up floor space and make cleaning easier. A wall-hung toilet needs an in-wall cistern and frame, and a wall-hung vanity needs solid framing behind the wall, all arranged at rough-in stage.
Feature and mosaic accents
Handmade-look subway tiles, fluted tiles, penny rounds and patterned floors add character without committing the whole room to a bold finish.
What affects the cost of bathroom renovations
Every quote is itemised, so you can see exactly where the money goes. These are the factors that move the number most.

- 01
Size and layout changes
Keeping fixtures where they are is the most economical option. Moving the toilet, shower or vanity adds plumbing work and sometimes floor cutting.
- 02
Condition of the existing room
Water damage, rotten framing or an old sheeted floor found at strip-out has to be fixed before waterproofing, and it is not always visible at quoting.
- 03
Tile choice and layout
Large-format, natural stone, mosaics and patterns such as herringbone take longer to lay and cut than a standard porcelain in a straight stack.
- 04
Fixtures and fittings
Vanities, tapware, baths and shower screens vary widely in price. We work with what you supply or source them through our suppliers.
- 05
Extras and upgrades
Underfloor heating, heated towel rails, in-wall cisterns, niches and floor-to-ceiling tiling each add time and materials.
- 06
Access and location
Upstairs bathrooms, apartments with lift bookings and regional properties affect logistics. Travel for country jobs is itemised in the quote.
