    Tilers on the Yorke Peninsula

The Yorke Peninsula sits between Spencer Gulf and Gulf St Vincent, 1.5 to 3 hours north-west of Adelaide. The Copper Coast towns of Kadina, Moonta and Wallaroo grew out of 1860s copper mining and still carry that Cornish heritage. Further south, Ardrossan, Port Vincent, Edithburgh and Yorketown mix broadacre farming, fishing and holiday living. Housing ranges from stone miners' cottages and farmhouses to beach shacks, retirement homes and new coastal subdivisions. Each type presents its own tiling job, and each needs a tiler who has seen it before.

    About the region

    Tiling on the Yorke Peninsula

SA Tiling Pro is based in Adelaide and services all of South Australia, with travel arranged for regional work. For the Yorke Peninsula, that means we plan the trip around your job and quote it up front, free and with no obligation. We handle bathroom and kitchen tiling, floors, feature walls, alfresco and pool areas, waterproofing, repairs and regrouting, plus commercial work. With 20+ years of experience and full licensing and insurance, we take on anything from a single ensuite to a complete new build.

The Copper Coast has 19th-century stone cottages and churches alongside 1960s to 1980s brick homes and newer subdivisions around Moonta Bay, Port Hughes and Wallaroo. Across the rest of the peninsula you find farmhouses, older holiday shacks and a growing number of modern sea-change homes in towns such as Port Vincent, Stansbury and Marion Bay.

    Local tiling considerations

    • Salt air and slip resistance

Coastal homes take salt-laden wind year-round, which is hard on grout, fixings and exposed tile edges. Outdoor and pool tiles should be slip-rated to AS 4586 and laid with exterior-grade adhesive and sealed grout, with a membrane to AS 4654 under any balcony or deck.

    • Holiday homes and wet areas

Shacks and rentals get heavy use in bursts and can sit empty for months between. Waterproofing to AS 3740 and correctly graded floor falls matter more here, because a small leak can go unnoticed until real damage is done.

    • Stone cottages and old substrates

Copper Coast cottages often have uneven floors, lime-based render and timber-framed wet rooms. We check the substrate, level where needed and use flexible adhesives so new tiles stay put on old bones.

    • Soil movement and joints

Much of the peninsula is limestone and sandy loam, but some areas have clay soils that shift with the seasons, and slabs on farms and new lots move with them. Movement joints placed to AS 3958.1 keep floor tiles from cracking.

    Common projects here

    • • Bathroom and ensuite renovations in Copper Coast stone cottages
    • • Full-home floor tiling for new builds at Moonta Bay and Port Hughes
    • • Alfresco and pool surround tiling for coastal homes
    • • Kitchen splashbacks in farmhouse renovations
    • • Waterproofing and regrouting for holiday shacks and rentals
    • • Commercial tiling for caravan parks, motels and shopfronts

    Services

Tiling services available on the Yorke Peninsula

Do you travel to the Yorke Peninsula for smaller jobs like a regrout or repair?
Yes. We service all of South Australia and organise travel for regional work. For smaller jobs it helps to group them, so if a neighbour or another property needs work at the same time, mention it when you request your free quote.
How far ahead should I book a tiler for a job on the peninsula?
Regional jobs are scheduled as trips, so earlier is better, particularly in the lead-up to summer when holiday homes get readied. Send through photos, measurements and your preferred dates and we will give you a quote and a realistic start window. Our hours are Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm.
Does a beach house need different tiles to a home in Adelaide?
Outdoors, yes. Salt air, wind and sand are harder on exposed surfaces, so we specify slip-rated tiles to AS 4586, exterior adhesives and sealed or epoxy grout for alfresco, pool and entry areas. Inside, the main difference is making sure wet areas are waterproofed to AS 3740, because a holiday home can sit unoccupied for long stretches.
Do you charge extra for travel?
For metropolitan Adelaide, no. For regional and remote work we factor travel into the written quote up front so there are no surprises, and we group regional jobs where we can to keep costs down.
Can you quote from photos and measurements?
For straightforward jobs, yes. Send photos and rough measurements with the quote form and we will give you an indicative price, then confirm it on site before work starts.
